Jenner & Block, a globally recognized law firm with seven offices across North America and the UK, needed a more efficient and resilient network foundation. Their legacy dual-MPLS environment from AT&T and Lumen no longer matched the pace of the firm’s modern operations, especially as they migrated voice to the cloud and centralized infrastructure into Equinix data centers. With a small IT team supporting a growing footprint, reliability and simplicity became critical priorities.
Consortiv partnered with Jenner & Block as their strategic advisor to evaluate the firm’s architecture, performance gaps, and operational constraints. After assessing cost, routing complexity, and provider performance, Consortiv recommended transitioning from MPLS to a DIA + SD-WAN model that would streamline connectivity, strengthen failover, and give the internal team the visibility they were missing. Consortiv then guided Jenner through vendor alignment and procurement, ultimately selecting Zayo as the SD-WAN partner best equipped to support the firm’s VMware-aligned environment.
Process
Consortiv began by mapping Jenner’s existing network dependencies, understanding the workflows tied to MPLS, and documenting the routing and security expectations of each office and data center location. From there, the team validated SD-WAN’s ability to match MPLS-level reliability while providing deeper analytics, automated path selection, and centralized control that would reduce day-to-day operational strain.
Consortiv led the evaluation, coordinated technical workshops, clarified design requirements, and walked the infrastructure team through the routing behavior they could expect during and after the migration. Once Zayo’s Velo/VMware-based SD-WAN solution was finalized, Consortiv supported procurement and ensured the design aligned seamlessly with Jenner’s Equinix-based footprint.
In my 25 years of working with providers, I’ve never encountered someone as smart and competent as Andrew Kaminski. He remains calm under pressure and consistently delivers exceptional service.
